Have you guys heard of MakeupAlley.com? It’s like Yelp for makeup. CakeStyle social media guru Giselle introduced this to me the other day, and I’m hooked – you can find honest, unbiased reviews for pretty much any makeup, skincare, or hair care item on there. They even have some men’s products, beauty tools and fragrances.
I don’t know why no one thought of this before, but it’s a great resource for women who don’t want to waste time and money on a mascara or moisturizer that isn’t tested and proven by regular women out there. You can search by brand or simply browse top products.

Quick Tips for a Fabulous FaceIt’s not just about the clothes you put on your back, ladies. You’ve got to pull the whole look together, and that means a little makeup too, and the right tools can highlight your positive features and minimize the negative ones. Read on for some quick and dirty tips to an office face. SkinThis is your canvas, and that part of my face I’m most guilty of skipping. If I don’t have a zit, I’m loathe to waste time evening out my skin tone. In reality, there are things anyone can do in 20 seconds to make their skin look better, even when traditional foundations require blending and can be time consuming and heavy for daytime. Because of that, I recommend a tinted moisturizer to get a fast glow. My favorite is by makeup guru Laura Mercier and works well for everyone from 16 to 60. CheeksBlush is a great way to brighten your face, but too many women are scared to use it. Bring out those cheekbones using a blush like Bobbi Brown’s in Apricot. If you accidentally put too much on, just grab a tissue and softly rub your skin until it’s softer looking. You can also use bronzer to this effect — just don’t put it anywhere else on your face.EyesKeep it light and you’ll be easy on the eyes. If you want to make a big impact quickly, I suggest using an angled eye brush with very dark, highly pigmented shadow. Keep the color as close to your lash line as possible and you’ll highlight the shape of your eyes, and always finish off with black mascara - it really does work for everyone. In fact, just try to always put mascara on when you leave the house.LipsPersonally, I hate shimmery lip color. It looks gorgeous… for about five minutes. Then you get crap in the corners of your mouth and it gets all smeared and sticky. I have two solutions for you — cherry ChapStick (seriously, it actually leaves a nice color and sheen!) or Korres lip butter. I have both on my desk right now, and they are both fantastic. I currently have the Korres in Wild Rose, but any of their colors are perfect. There you have it. Perfect face, perfectly fast, no excuses.
