Elements of Style | Hair

Your hairdo says a lot about you, whether you like it or not (we do!). Whether you have a short blonde pixie cut, long brown layers, a funky black bob, or a mane of red curls, you’re expressing yourself with your tresses.

Here are a few celebrity hairstyles that we love (and why):

SHORT HAIR

emma watson | pixie cut

Not everyone can pull off the ultra-short pixie cut, but Emma sure can. This hairstyle accentuates the shape of her face and head, remaining feminine and delicate in spite of the short strands.

michelle williams | short boy-cut

This Bieber-esque short cut might sound strange on paper, but Michelle pulls it off beautifully. The soft sideswept look, along with the bright blonde, keep this look glamorous instead of teen-pop-sensation.

rihanna | funky

Rihanna definitely has the personality to pull off this choppy do. The funky bangs really add to the attitude of this short haircut.

MEDIUM HAIR

katie holmes | traditional short bob

Katie is classy-as-can-be with this classic chin-length cut. The bob frames her face perfectly, and the bangs keep it from looking to heart-shaped.

gwenyth paltrow |  long bob

Gwyneth does a different take on the bob – or, a longer take. This look, parted in the middle and falling to the shoulders, is simple and elegant.

jessica biel | medium layers

Jessica’s wavy hair looks great in this medium-length layered do. The highlights in her hair give it body, and the sideswept bangs soften the look.

LONG HAIR

mila kunis | long wavy layers

Mila has the traditional long wavy layers look, and she pulls it off beautifully. Unlike Jessica’s do, Mila has no bangs, which works well with her face shape.

reese witherspoon | long and straight

Reese’s hair is classic but not boring in this photo – her hair is long and all one length, but the bangs add a lot of interest to the look.

At CakeStyle, we understand that clothing is only one part of your personal style, so in these posts we aim to discuss the other elements that help make up who you are.
